6.4 Find Probabilities of Compound Events
Day 1:
Probabillity of is a fractional value between 0 and 1. 0 being that it is IMPOSSIBLE for something to happen, 1 being that it happens all the time. You will never have a probability bigger than 1 or less than 0.
Explore these sites and take notes on the different types of events that we will be figuring out the probability. Please explore them in order.
Types of event - This site gives a great overview of what we will be studying.
Independent Events - On this site we will be taking a closer look at independent event. Please be sure to answer the 10 questions at the bottom of the page, and include both the question and answer in your notes.
Dependent Events / Conditional Events - On this site we will explore dependent or conditional event. Again, take notes and be sure to answer the 10 questions at the bottom of the page, recording them into your notes.
Day 2:
Recap Independent and Dependent Events as a whole group and do some example problems.
Mutually Exclusive Events - This site will go through mutally exclusive events. Please take notes and complete the 10 questions at the bottom of the page. These should also be included in your notes.
More questions - This site has a lot more example questions
